Our class retell of A My Name is Alice-2013
After reading this book each child made his or her own page to reflect the patterns found in the book.

We have been working on multiplication. Here are our farm facts using Farm and Educreations.

We used Comic Creator to make these story fact statements.

This afternoon we created the Tellagami app for explaining addition algerthums.

4-23-13 Today reading partners read a book and then they retold the story on paper. Once they did a paper retell they used puppet pals to create a movie retell of their story.

4-24-13 Today I read the book The Gruffalo without looking at the pictures. Students then had to infer what the Gruffalo looked like by drawing him in the app Draw Monsters. We then used Pic Collage to write over the app answering two of four questions about what people infer about monsters.

4-11-13 Today we used an app called Morfo to talk about a book that we had not read yet. We looked at the cover and inferred what the story was going to be about and then we continued to look at all the pictures in the book. We then read the book and made Morfos to record our inferences.

INFERENCE SKILLS

Today we mysteriously found a backpack in our room. We had to unzip it to see if it had a name in it. It didn't, but we thought we could peek inside to get an idea of who it may belong to. We used our inference skills to think about who it may belong to. We then used a free app called Popplet to take pictures and write our inferences on. Here are a few.

Things Happening in our room. The kids had so much fun on Tuesday doing what I call Brownie Fraction Math. I brought it brownies and we cut them into fractions. I then asked the kids to eat certain fractions of their brownies. We focused on 1/2, 1/4, 1/3.

We recently studied the lifecycle of plants in our classroom. We planted sunflower and string bean seeds and put some in the window in water, on the board not in the sun, and some in dirt. We have been writing in our science journals what we have been observing.
